CHOOSING AN EXPERIENCE

CAS can be anything that you enjoy doing, is a new challenge for you or allows you to demonstrate an improvement of your skills, as long as it falls into one or more of the three categories. However, it can be beneficial to choose something that is connected to your preferred area of study and can potentially be added to an application as a service/working experience. Of course, this will not the possible for every activity, but try to incorporate this into your work at least once.

Other considerations that students made include:

  • Service opportunities where there is actual need (for example, sewing face masks during the early phase of Corona).

  • It should be voluntary; if you earn money during the activity, it cannot be considered CAS.

  • Choose different types of activity. This allows you to reflect on different skills and show strengths in multiple areas.

  • Choose something that you are motivated to do, and try to incorporate teamwork at least in your project.

  • Activities do not have to be complex, but try finding a balance between long-term and short-term activities.

You can find examples of activities under example experiences.
